TEMPORALITY

Site-specific videoinštalácia je umiestnená v krematóriu, v priestore kde je lepšie než kdekoľvek inde exponovaný vzťah bytia človeka a času. Vo videu sa cyklicky opakujú dva úkony. Sfúknutie sviečky ako metafora smrti, čo stavia do centra pozornosti otázku našej temporality, pominuteľnosti. Nesie v sebe odkaz na dočasnosť tela. Avšak následné vzplanutie sviečky a kruhová kompozícia videa otvárajú otázku, či je fyzická smrť konečným štádiom ľudského bytia.

Site- specific videoinstallation is situated in crematory, where the colleration of human subsistence and time itself are much better exposed than everywhere else. In this video there are two acts which are cyclic, repeated over and over again. Blowing out the candle as metaphor of death raises the question of our temporality and finiteness. But the flaring of the candle and circular composition of this video open the question if physical death is the final phase of human being.
